Snacks for Home Meets

All athletes are treated to healthy snacks (typically one fruit and one other healthy option) at the end of each regular season meet by the host school. The Jr. High Cross Country team is responsible for coordinating the snacks for both of our home meets.

We ask for donations of fruit and another healthy snack for all of the participants. Foods that have worked well in the past are: apples, bananas, grapes, granola bars, goldfish crackers, animal crackers, and pretzels. *Please note that these are only suggestions!

It is also easiest to have snacks placed in individual bags for distribution.

There will be approximately 90 athletes at our home meet on September 4th, (I will let you know how many will attend our second home meet on October 9th in mid September). This means we will need 180 snacks to hand out.

If possible, I would appreciate a parent volunteer who could coordinate the collection of food and organize four other volunteers to help hand the food out when the races are over. This should not interfere with watching your children run. It takes a little while for all of the runners to finish and check back in with their coaches before they are ready to eat. We also need to set aside enough snacks to accommodate the Varsity Runners once their races are over, as well.

Thanks so much for your help! Please let me know if you are interested or have any other questions!
