It was a great day of hard work and determination. The varsity played well and it was an excellent opportunity to take younger players to learn and gain experience for next year. They participated in 5 events and then entered the competition round making it to two rotations. The team then lost to a team from Ohio that was rank among the top. Congratulations it was a great day. The Penn Manor Comets took two teams to the Lineman Challenge on June 8th. Both teams did well participating in the 10 field events followed by a tire flip and tug of war. Cocalico won the competition, but both of the Penn Manor teams did well. All proceeds were given to Cole's Kids. The Penn Manor Football team held one its main fundraisers at the Penn Manor Spring Fling event. Funds raised go to assists in team expenses such as Friday meals during the season, hudl cost, and end zone camera cost. Special thanks to the booster club for all their hard work in holding a successful event. Penn Manor hosted Flag Football for athletes in grades 2 to 8 weekly in April withe Championship games held in May at the Penn Manor Spring Fling. This year the threat of bad weather forced the school to cancel Spring Fling but Football continued. All of the teams played on May 6th and enjoyed a great evening with the rain holding off until all of the events were completed. Special thanks to all of the people who helped out at the refreshment stand, inventory, registration, and assisting with the games. 210 athletes participated. This year the rules to the games were changed to encourage as many players could be on the field at once. Also, new positions were added to include the lineman position. The high school players coached and had the opportunity to work with the younger youth and learn how to teach a different age group. This is a great learning experience for the high school players as well. Thanks is also given to our sponsors: Howard Orthodontics, Sabel McKinney (Kingston Reality), Nationwide Insurance, Sugar Bowl, and Shutlz Transportation. The Penn Manor Football Team spent the afternoon bowling and invited any football player within the community to join them. The boys enjoyed a nice afternoon. Special thanks to the Leisure Lanes Bowling Alley that allowed the kids and families to attend. The PMYBC (Penn Manor Youth Barbell Club) is showing the success of our future comet football players.
